Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Clients,

After leaving the American Red Cross in 1997, I formed Lawton Associates. During the past 11 years, I have worked with many excellent coaches and consultants in service to nearly 100 for-profit, not-for-profit, and government client organizations. Most of my work has focused on helping individual, teams, and organizations prepare for, excel through, and improve from change.

Well, it is time for me to make some changes.

Effective July 16, I will begin a new direction in my professional life. I will assume responsibility for the continued growth and evolution of the Leadership Consulting practice in the Mid-Atlantic Region (Baltimore to Charlotte ) for Lee Hecht Harrison as Senior Vice President, Talent Solutions Director. Established in 1974, Lee Hecht Harrison (LHH) is a global leader in creating and delivering customized and fully integrated human capital solutions. With over 240 offices worldwide, LHH is dedicated to partnering with organizations and individuals, enabling them to maximize their performance and achieve success. LHH is the flagship brand of Adecco Human Capital Solutions, a division of Adecco, SA, the world leader in workforce solutions, with over 6,000 offices in over 70 countries and territories around the world.

As Regional Talent Solutions Director, I will be responsible for sales, delivery and practice development related to career transition, leadership consulting, and workforce solutions. I will have the opportunity to grow and develop a leadership consulting practice in partnership with a team of professionals including executive coaches and consultants. For the past three years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with LHH as a contract associate serving as a senior executive coach and consultant working with Fortune 500 clients and new service development.

During the next few months, I will complete existing work through my practice, Lawton Associates. I expect this work will be complete by January and I will “close the doors” on Lawton Associates. I will continue my association with Queens University of Charlotte, however in a different capacity. Effective this fall, I will be working through the McColl of Business as a part-time Assistant Professor where I will teach in the new masters program in Organization Development. And, finally, I will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor to The Foundation of Coaching (a project of the Harnisch Foundation).

For those with whom I’ve had the pleasure of working, thank you for allowing me the opportunities. I have certainly learned and grown a great deal from my peers, mentors, and clients. My hope is that this change will only help to continue that journey and that I will continue to have opportunities to work with you in the future.

While my work will take me out of town a great deal, yet I will continue to live in Charlotte. My email address is john.bennett@lhh.com and my phone numbers will remain: (704) 660-6000 (o) and (704) 224-4222 (m).

Many thanks and I look forward to staying in touch. Best regards.
